Anime-
Nana grew up watching anime. She found endless entertainment from the characters and stories. She longed to become a voice actor like the ones that she would listen to every day, and began practicing dubbing over the shows while watching them.
To this day she still finds inspiration from the anime of her childhood, and often relates real-life situations to them.

Maid and Underground Idol-
Nana worked as an underground idol while working part-time as a maid. She would often cram in as much practice as she could despite being in unideal conditions. For example, Nana would do most of her voice training in a cramped alley while taking out the trash. She also put a lot of effort into sticking to her fantastical character: An eternally 17 alien from the planet Usamin who rode to Earth on a carrot. Although she felt hopeless at times watching younger girls and coworkers moving on with their lives, she continued to hold on to her dream, even if she saw no future in it.
One day a producer from a talent agency met up with her after a show. She was very impressed by his position, and asked for an autograph. Upon realizing that she was being scouted, Nana became extremely flustered, and made a fool of herself multiple times. The Producer decided to move forward with the hiring process because he found this “funny”.

Produced Idol-
Once Nana began being produced by a professional talent agency, she continued to work very hard. She even began working at the talent agency’s cafe as a side gig despite… probably not needing to do that. The training she underwent pushed her limits far beyond her expectations, but she continued to soldier forward, plowing through her aching hips and insecurities about her body image.
The day before her first live, she was too nervous to maintain composure. She visited the stage that she performed on back when she was an underground idol, hoping that it would calm her down and make her thankful for her current situation. Instead, it just filled her head with more worries as she looked back upon her frivolous past. After the Producer asked her what she would do about it, she decided that the only choice she had was to give it her all, and let out a shout to clear her mind.
The next day, she put everything she had into her debut. Despite the fact that some people were turned off by her character, and that this performance wore her out completely, she was nonetheless overjoyed to finally make her debut as a professional idol, and looked forward to seeing the sight she saw on stage again.
Many jobs followed, seeing her placed with other eccentric idols with their own dreams and methods. Although Nana was clumsy and easily intimidated, she learned a lot from the other idols and staff as they learned a lot from her. She was thankful for the fact that she had to earn her position as an idol, because otherwise she may not have listened to anyone and grown into the person that she was. Nana legitimately scared herself thinking about such a thing.

Voice Acting Debut-
Eventually, Nana finally saw her dreams of being a voice acting idol come true. She was overcome with emotion, for she could finally sing the opening theme song for a magical girl anime and have a guest starring role.
She relished the fact that through all of her hardships, she never gave up. Looking back at how anime influenced her life, she cherished the fact that she could have that effect on someone else now... The fact that she could inspire and heal those who have been hurt with her voice.

Winning the 7th Election-
Nana won the 7th annual Cinderella Election that was held by her production company. Already overwhelmed by her recent accomplishments, Nana could hardly believe that she had won. She gave her unending thanks to her Producer and her fans. Unfortunately, many saw her election as a “joke” or “meme”, due to her name sounding identical to the number seven (in Japanese). Nana, as always, rolled with the punches, though the fact that many were irritated by her win began to bother her. Her goal as an idol was not to make people upset, after all. Full of gratitude and pride, as well as doubt, she formally accepted the crown. Immediately she felt that her world had changed, and it had. It was now under siege by something straight out of her beloved anime, as well as her worst nightmares.

Why this path?: Nana’s persona that she sticks to often communicates with Usamin Star. After being pulled, she, in desperation, attempted to communicate with Usamin Star for guidance. To her surprise, the star talked back. She agreed to make a pact in an error of judgement. Although she’s happy to finally receive the magical girl powers that she’s always dreamed of, they are quite different than she imagined, and not entirely under her control.
